July 7-9, 2006 - Thursday-Sunday

This morning, Cassidy & I got up early and headed to my brother's (Uncle Steve & Aunt Lesley! :))! We rode with them up to Kansas where my youngest brother, Michael is getting married! (Daddy had to stay home because he was reffing 14 hockey games this weekend! :O)
We got on the road at 10am... we had to stop a lot between Cassidy, newly-pregnant Lesley (yay!) & Steven with his long bloody nose! :( On one of our stops, Cassidy played inside this McDonalds slide (yay Cassidy, she's been scared of play areas lately, so this is great!)...
Back on the road drinking her apple juice! Isn't she stylin'? :)

Once in Wichita, they dropped us off at Auntie Robin's apartment to get ready for the wedding. Robin took this pic of her & Cassidy on her phone! :)

Then we went with Sylvia, JayDee & Matthew to their house a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGG ways away in the middle of nowhere! LOL (I am SUCH a city girl now! ;)) Here's Matthew playing with Cassidy's light-up spinner thingie lol - he LOVED that thing!
Time for sleep! Aunt Sylvia had an Alex for her to sleep with (& I made sure to bring HER blankie & pillow...:))! She actually did really well sleep-wise... but then it helped that she only slept about 20min. on the 6hr. drive & no other nap either day... we also fell asleep to "The Wild" on Friday night & "A Bug's Life" on Saturday night, two of her favorite movies... :)
The next day Sylvia chauffered us around (lol) - first stop was Mom's house to get their car for driving all over! :) While there, I decided to take a pic of my first car (LOL)... This old thing will never be gotten rid of since my little brother Michael was born in it nearly 20 years ago! Not that it was ever beautiful to begin with, but time has not been kind! lol
On the road again... we learned yet again why Cassidy's carseat in the middle of our truck is a good thing... Those darn feet opened the car door AGAIN (she did this when we rode with Amanda & Isabelle awhile back...) while we were driving. 'Bout gave us a heart-attack!
Off to AJ's Sports Grill (always have to go there as I worked there for a couple years & always know someone working!) to have lunch with my Dad & Connie... & Just like when she freaked out seeing Grandpa Robby the day before, she freaked out when we saw Granpa here. Not sure what's up with that... Lunch was nice & she did great sitting across from Granpa but when it was time to go, I tried to get her to say goodbye & was going to take a pic of them together with her holding her Doc car (because his character in Cars is SO my Dad!) but she freaked out again... Luckily, she went to Grandma Connie & I snapped a couple quick shots before going outside... *whew!*
Back outside and on his motorcycle, she was better! lol

Then - back to Sylvia's for some swimming before dinner! I think I traumatized Cassidy with her arm floaties though... she doesn't quite realize that they FLOAT & being that the whole pool is 4ft, there wasn't a good place to just 'put her in' while I got in. So, I put her in next to the ladder & tried to tell her that she would float & to hold on to the ladder if she needed, but she was SO scared & screaming "I FALLING, I FALLING". Once she got in the baby boat she was fine... awwwwe well, we'll try again another time... Sylvia took this pic of us! :)
Then Uncle JayDee got out the hose... after a little hesitation & letting her have the control, she had a BLAST "getting us"! We had lots of fun in the pool! :)
Then Matthew woke up from his nap, so he came swimming for a little bit too, but it was a little too cold for him - so a quick pic & we were all done! :)
Earlier, while we were gone, JayDee discovered they had an apple-tree on their property (they own a lot of land), so after dinner we went to check it out! JayDee helping Cassidy pick an apple!
After we washed it off, Cassidy dug in!
Not a great pic, but wanted to show how "scary" baby Matthew liked chasing Cassidy! lol She's trying to get away in this pic... LOL He just couldn't get enough of her, she was great entertainment! :)
Then Cassidy made up a new game for herself. She'd say 1,2,3 & then jump up & drop onto her bottom (ouch!). After about the 3rd time, Sylvia would quickly put a pillow under her for her to land on! lol
What a beautiful Princess! Sylvia let her play with her makeup & she put on her light-up heels & held her purse!
Up early Sunday morning to go have breakfast at Grandma's before we get on the road home! Playing piano (I love that I got Robin's pic in it too!)

Saying "hi!" to Bisquit! This used to be Jeremy's dog when he lived with his parents... after his parents passed away, he came to live with my family since we live in an apt. Being an Italian Greyhound, he needs lot of space & opportunity to run! This is his *home*!

At a gas station on the road... she wasn't quite sure about this bear at first. I was trying to get her to come over to it & she said "bear ROARRRR at me!" I had to assure her that no, it wouldn't Roar at her! lol So, she gave him a hug!

& Finally, she got so excited when she noticed that one of the gas-station restaurants had ALEX as part of their logo... so she got a napkin! ;)
She ended up falling asleep again & was still asleep when we got to Steven's house so we unpacked & he put the carseat in my truck (with her still asleep) & she slept all the way home & was SO confused when we got here. She cried & said she wanted to go in Aunt Lesley's house & play with baby Matthew's toys! But it didn't take long for her to see her kitties and her toys & when Daddy got home from the ice-rinks she was ECSTATIC to see him! :)
Was a great trip, so good to see everyone! CONGRATS Michael & Becca & Thanks Steven & Lesley for the 'road trip' & Sylvia, JayDee & Matthew for letting us stay with you guys! LOVE you all! :)
Next up... MOVING! We start moving on Friday, July 14th to our new apartment! :O

Looks like you all had so much fun!
Yall sure have been busy!! looks like yall had a great time!! You have some wonderful pix!! Love that first one in the blue tunnel.
Thanks guys! Krista - she doesn't have her own camera, she just uses mine - she's REALLY good with it, knows which buttons do what for what she needs to do, can look at them after she takes them, etc. :)
