Cassidy took a trial class at Gymnastics today! She had done it a couple years ago & freaked out every time she went so I had hesitated in sending her again, especially now that she's too old for the "mommy & me" classes. But, she really needs more of this type of class right now and around other kids, so today was day 1! She actually did WAY better than I expected, though there were 'issues' at every turn, she at least didn't freak out during class. :)
Before class, playing with the legos while waiting... (She picked out her shirt - my Dad had that made for her 3rd birthday! :))

1st up: Trampoline... I have no idea why she's pointing in this pic & when I asked her she said "I just wike to point at her". LOL

Circle time... She was a few steps behind during all of these activities... ;) This was funny though - they (well, all except Cassidy lol) were 'smelling their feet' & he asked Cassidy what her feet smelled like, she said "Lions" ;) which made everybody laugh & which led to all of the other kids giving animals as answers! lol

She REFUSED to lay all the way down, either on her back or on her tummy. & They stayed laying down for a long time, and I saw her getting really close to losing it when they finally sat back up. :(

Nervous about doing the circuits... I didn't get a chance to talk to the coach before class so he had no idea about "Cassidy" (which on one hand is a good thing)... but a couple times she needed help & even though she did so great about asking for help, he didn't do so great at hearing her... so the other kids would go around her & just left her stranded on what she was needing help on - made me a little sad...

This was one of the times she was totally stuck. She got up like that by herself & then had NO idea how to get down. She layed there asking for help, but he didn't help her & she layed so long her arms gave out and that's how she got down, she just fell. :(

She loved the bars!

Doing her own thing... ;)

I think this was her FAVORITE part... He held up this triangle shaped 'mat' & the kids would stand against it & he'd knock it over. I wasn't sure she'd like it because she'd have to be laying down to finish. But she LOVED it, she was laughing hysterically & was the only kid to do it backwards at the end... it's a good 'slamming' activity - her favorite! ;)

After class... he was asking her to sit with the others, but she wouldn't. ;) Hey - she's at least near them, right? Baby steps lol.

Once class was over is when she lost it... In order to help prepare her for going, I showed her pix the night before from when she was there 2yrs. ago. One of the pix was her swinging into these big blue foam blocks. Several times during class, she tried to escape over to those blocks & he'd wrangle her back. Well, when the class ended & they never did the blocks, she was so so upset. She HAD to do everything that she saw a pic of and that was the only thing left out. He came over & saw she was upset so I explained so once everyone else had left, he took her by the hand and let her play in the blocks for a minute - Very cool! :) She was happy & all was right in the world again. lol

Then we had lunch with some friends and let the girls play in the arcade afterwards... Cassidy was back to wanting to 'unlock' so spent awhile doing that... (& Thanks again, Melissa for the hat! :))

Dakota wasn't sure what she was doing... LOL

Getting 'prizes'!

& A big hug goodbye! :)

We stopped at WalGreens to pick up my pix from Gymnastics (film ;)) and she saw this square outside and wanted me to take a pic of her with it. She really loves shapes!

Chewing on her "Green P"... :)
