July 22, 2006 - Saturday
On my Mom's board, we take turns doing "A Day In The Life of..." & today was Cassidy's turn... so here's our Day In The Life... :)
I accidentally fell asleep last night (lol) so I wasn't prepared for first thing & she woke me up, so no sleeping pic this morning! :)
But this is SO TRUE. She's so tired & not sleeping well since we've moved here, she's been getting up early & not napping long, so there's been lots more yawning! lol & She's holding my "Muffy" doll from when I was little!
Reading her Cars book!
Breakfast of Champions - peanut butter sandwich... we haven't brought most of our groceries over & she doesn't have her little table/desk here yet... :)
Time for the dresses to begin! ;) This is her 'wedding' dress right now so she's "Aunt Becca" & this big raccoon/bear is "Uncle Michael"!
Reading Cars again... I'm posting this one to show her "NO fireworks" face - even though I didn't turn on the flash, she let me know she didn't want it on!
Still reading - I think this is THE pic for us right now! LOTS of boxes! :)
& A little bike-ride... well, sorta - she doesn't get the pedaling, so she just sits on it, but LOVES to sit on it! She said she was going to our 'new apt.' & she'll say "wait stop light turn green!" :)
Outfit #3 (lol) - a new wedding dress... & Yup, reading Cars again! ;)
I unpacked my 'blackdrop' & was checking to see if it would fit over the bedroom window (it just gets TOO bright in there & I think that's part of why she's not sleeping well right now) - it does, but it's see-through so that doesn't work lol. But she got excited & wanted me to take her picture, so I 1/2 set it up & took a few... & Yup, she's reading Cars... ;)
Then she put this frame of Daddy (before she was born, it was a pic for work, he's such a clown! LOL) on the blackdrop & she took a pic! :)
Daddy had been coaching, so he brought home McDonalds & a load of stuff (including her desk :))... so here's lunchtime!
& Now you'll see why she's wearing SO many different outfits lately... her 'new closet' has a low bar, so I've been letting her have access to her clothes...which she didn't have at the old apt... I'm hoping the newness will wear off at some point & she won't want to change 100 times a day (because I have to help with every one! lol)... Picking a dress to wear (notice the 'blue' section - there are a few more there now that I've emptied the dryer lol)...

Peeking in our neighbors patio... their calico kitty sits in the window & she loves to stop & see her! :)

Then it donned on me that my last 2 Day In The Life's we had to get catfood. So, I took this pic specifically for this reason - it's apparently my DITL "thing"! LOL

(The new headband... She wore one of these a couple weeks ago at a friends' house, so I've been on the lookout for one. I had her try on a black one that was out of the package & she said it was too small (adult's lol) so I gave her the blue one & she loved it... I figure it does the same job as the hat (she wants something tight on her head, usually her ears) but will keep her head a bit cooler than the 'snow hats' she usually wears. :))
Still yawning!
She told me to take a picture of her EYE. ;)
Our NEW apt.! We didn't get it because it's beautiful! (LOL) But we like it & there's no way a car can drive through these windows! ;)

Jeremy's on call right now & as we got home to drop stuff off (we were going to go back to the old apt. to work) he got called in... so we decided to go ahead & let Cassidy have her nap - she really needed it anyway! (She said, "I sweep in my blue headband?" "Yes, you can sleep in it..." "NO take it off!" "I'm not going to take it off, Cassidy..." :))
Not even 5min. later...

At OT, they played in the dark with flashlights... the flash doesn't really allow for the *feeling* lol...
Then we went swimming in our new pool! Stopping to smell the neighbor's flowers! ;) lol

On the way to Social Skills group... covering her eyes... (When we first started noticing her light sensitivity...)

Daddy took her out for her first 'ice-cream truck'! (That truck was neat in the beginning because our old apt. never had that, but it got old quick when it drove by playing *the music* during naptime! lol)

We gave the vanity away (thinking we didn't have the space...) and she was taking one last look in the mirror! ;)

July 27, 2006 - Thursday
This made me sad... she was so excited about her 'tambourine' that she made in Social Skills class on Tues. I was telling Stephanie about it on Wed. how happy she was with her 'white plate' tambourine & Stephanie was talking about how Cassidy wanted the blue paint & they made her share with the other kids... I said, they painted them? Hers is all white... :( That's when we realized that after they made her share, she never got to paint AT ALL. :( Poor kiddo!
When she was 2 and being "2" ;), one night she used a pen & drew on the laundry door... we decided we were not going to fight this and let her have *that door* to color on as she wished. She was actually REALLY good about ONLY coloring on that door from then on... so it was never a big deal to any of us. :) I was really sad to have to leave *the door* and her artwork, so I took a pic of her with the "final masterpiece"...

After some dinner plans didn't work out, we decided to go swimming...

She had quite the separation anxiety when we sold our couch to the guy upstairs. It was just too big for our new apt. so we had to. It was Jeremy's Dad's couch, so we didn't *want* to... she was REALLY upset about it...
I still don't think she fully realizes we got rid of her trampoline because we never *said it outloud* & she didn't see the transfer... But this was her last day jumping on it. Of course NOW, I wish we hadn't gotten rid of it. We thought we had no room for it either, but we do & she NEEDS one & of course, I can't find one with a bar like this... sigh.
Later... after she realized again that the couch was gone. :(

I was so sad to discover where they had been stored for the last few years (in a trashbag next to the rerigerator had been ruined... the trashbag had a hole in the bottom & nearly everything in it - mostly papers/posterboards had mold on it. :( So, I took pix & threw it all away. :( A couple from Jr. High/ High School:

A friend in my Mom's group had an order for this bib, but the actual Mom who ordered it speller her daughter's name, "Kassidy" - so she didn't need this one! ;) So... Alex has a new bib! ;)
Some friends of Jeremy's came over to pick up some stuff we donated to their friends' who had a house-fire... so these pix are while Jeremy was chatting with them... so sweet!

We met Amy & Abby at JoAnn's today!
Sleeping with her Alex & new Alex Valentine's shirt...(be on the lookout for that again come Valentine's Day! ;))
Then we went swimming & thought we'd check out the indoor pool here... my goal was to get some good 'duck' pix for a duck collage I was going to have made for our bathroom... ;) This was my favorite lol!
We brought the bubbles as they're always good for some smiles!
Then we played in the cold hottub outside lol... squirting the duck at Daddy! ;)
